Trace is a young crafter/blogger who recently caught my eye. You can see his lovely photography on the it’s all just menagerie blog. (I’m obsessed with the chandelier photo!) He also makes some very fine vintage recycled journals available in his Etsy shop! Right now in his shop 20% of all profits now go to the National Wildlife Foundation in support of cleaning up the oil spill and helping the animals in the Gulf of Mexico. Bravo!

Ah so many pretty fun things to look in Kristena Derrick’s Etsy shop Thimbly Things. I’m such a fan of embroidery hoop art and I really love the fun patterned fabric she uses. These give me warm fuzzies.

Hello friends! I don’t do this often, but I figured I’d share a little about myself and some things I am very excited about, I just can’t contain myself. First off the above picture is just one I took of a Pyrex dish I own and love and have meaning to post for a while. Cute eh? I love the retro Americana imagery.
So anyway, today Brian and I got keys to the house we are going to be renting. This summer we will be slowly transferring from our apartment to a cute, older historic home close to Millikin with lots and lots of space and character. We can’t wait to get settled in and start decorating!
And finally, the thing I am most excited about, today Brian and I are doing a 16 hour road trip (round-trip) to Michigan to pick up a letterpress. I’ve heard people say that when the time is right a press will find you. Suddenly, out of nowhere we stumbled across our perfect match, sooner than we ever expected. We plan to transform the basement of our new house into a silk-screen/letterpress studio and will hopefully be starting a little business. I am so happy that summer has finally arrived and I will actually have a little time to devote to my personal handmade dreams.
And… last weekend I went back to my home home to see my family. Got this cute romper and my sister Grace and I had a fun little photo-shoot! Ahh summer….

I love the rough and rugged look of these aprons and bags made by Stanley & Sons. With all the printing I’ll be doing this summer I am in desperate need of a quality apron and I would love to have one made by these guys! The bags are awesome too and made out of lots of interesting recycled materials like old military dufflels.

I meant to post about this forever ago but I totally forgot! Brian got me this bag for my birthday and it is amazing! Big but not too big, simple, neutral (goes with everything), lots of inside pockets, and it has an adjustable strap! These bags are so well made and they are really affordable. She has a wonderful selection, you really must check out this shop!
