keywest1

This morning I’m headed off to Key West with my mom and sister for a much needed vacation. This is the first time since last August I will actually have a week I am not working or even thinking about working. I am beyond excited. Thought I’d post these adorable vintage Florida and Key West postcards from The Vintage Plum Shop to get in the spirit!

sundaytimes1

The Sunday Times Market is an Etsy vintage shop run by David and Ashley, a husband & wife design team. They certainly have some of best product photography I’ve seen on Etsy. I love all the mid century items. Just looking at their shop you really get a sense that they took a lot of care in choosing what to present in their shop. I want everything!

SwaneeGrace1

I’m falling in love with all the darling vintage clothing from Swanee Grace. So many gorgeous finds here! I think that last little cream one I posted would make a really cute wedding dress. She also has a beautiful blog with lots of wonderful vintage inspirations.

Spent some of Sunday afternoon at the library in search of illustrative inspiration. I got stuck in the folklore section and fell in love with all these old books. I would love to have a collection of these on my shelf. The colors and typefaces are just so lovely! I checked out Forgotton Folk-Tales of the English Countries and A Dictionary of Fabulous Beasts.

vintage bird cage 'Liberty Lantern'

I love these library lanterns made from vintage birdcages by Atlier 688. Light shines through the cage bars casting shadows on the walls and creating a unique atmosphere. Very cool.

Pacheveria Succulent in Vintage Mikasa Mug

Etsy seller Monkey’s Always Look has the greatest selection of succulents. Best of all, I love the beautiful vintage and re-purposed objects she plants them in. My first experience in succulent ownership was less than stellar (my own mistakes) but I’m ready to try again! I would love have any one of her beautiful creations!

Vintage Speckled Melmac Cups and Saucer Set

Sandi’s shop Pink Kitty Crafts features adorable, useful goodies that she makes from old discarded “junk”. She also sells a variety of cute vintage housewares and  knick-knacks. I really love her product photography. The photos look like they came straight out of a 1958 Family Circle magazine! So perfect!

White Necklace

from Olga's

Found this little beauty while scouring my favorite vintage junk store, Olga’s House of Stuff, for some little odds and ends for a new project I’m working on. I love the tassels and how the paint is wearing off in some places. Best of all, it only cost me $2. Score!

Honey Bee Vintage

I was browsing some of my Etsy favorites today and I was knocked out by the cuteness of this vintage 1960’s babydoll dress from Honey Bee Vintage. I love the puff sleeves and the floral print. Doesn’t this dress make you want to frolic through a feild?

Horn-Rimmed Hunks of Delta Sigma Phi

Horn-rimmed hunk

Check out the rockin’ frames on these dream boats! I came across some old, water-damaged fraternity composites and couldn’t help but do a little scanning. I forgot to check what year these are from, but because of the color and hairstyles I’d guess 1960’s. If anyone has any idea let me know! Anyways I’ve been thinking about getting a new pair of glasses and I really want something neat. I’m thinking something chunky and retro with larger frames. If anyone knows of a great place for funky frames please comment! I have no clue where to look!

San Cristobal

San Cristobal

I found this little gem at the Little Mexico thrift store near my house. I have an odd obsession with old saint imagery and this postcard takes the cake. Saint Christopher looks just stunning in his hot pink frock. The shoddy application of color against the crisp black and white image gives it so much character. It definitely has that handmade magic!

Saint Christopher is the patron saint of many things including fruit dealers, bookbinders, garnders, and truckers!

Ramona West Boho Skirt

I have been scouring Etsy for the perfect vintage skirt for spring and Ramona West’s collection certainly takes the cake. She selects unique, quality, vintage items and professionally hems them for a modern fit. I love the high waist and fullness of these skirts, and the prints are great!
