So, I accidentally got sucked into a little “online window shopping” today and I came across some delicious chandeliers. The tasty translucent candy colored one above is from Urban Outfitters. The next two can be found at Anthropologie. I’m really inspired by the spoon and fork one. My boyfriend an I might attempt to create our own version of it!

Old School Stationers is a small letterpress studio specializing in the production of handmade cards, journals and wall prints owned and operated by Brian and Amy Reed. The illustrations and printing are done completely by hand. I just love their Camping Circa 1960s collection. The colors are so retro and who doesn’t love a good ol’ fashioned VW van? Many prints are available at their Etsy Shop!

Here is a new embroidery that will be appearing in my shop this morning! I embroidered this little doodle of mine, a psychedelic daisy eyed girl with a purple aura.

Inspired by Lady Gaga and her redonk fashions!

I found this little gem at the Little Mexico thrift store near my house. I have an odd obsession with old saint imagery and this postcard takes the cake. Saint Christopher looks just stunning in his hot pink frock. The shoddy application of color against the crisp black and white image gives it so much character. It definitely has that handmade magic!
Saint Christopher is the patron saint of many things including fruit dealers, bookbinders, garnders, and truckers!

Thought I’d share this tiny painting I did. In the springtime this little Yeti likes to come down from the icy mountains and enjoy the blossoming flowers. He is so moved and inspired by the blooms that he decides to incorporate them into his latest look (he’s very fashion conscious).
Here’s my original sketch for this painting. Notice the ugly, but rather hilarious predecessors of the Springtime Yeti. It really is survival of the beautiest!

My latest fashion obsession is Portland based designer, Makool. These outfits are so sweet and charming, and the photography is pure eye candy. Sample items can be purchased on her Etsy shop but many more styles and sizes are available at www.makoollovesyou.com.

I stumbled upon a super neat Etsy store today! The Bungaloo is John Vogl’s small design/illustration/screen printing studio in St. Louis. Much of his work focuses on limited edition concert posters that he designs and screen prints by hand. He sells many of these posters and also silk screened tee shirts, journals and more in his Etsy shop, theBungaloo.

I have been scouring Etsy for the perfect vintage skirt for spring and Ramona West’s collection certainly takes the cake. She selects unique, quality, vintage items and professionally hems them for a modern fit. I love the high waist and fullness of these skirts, and the prints are great!

I’m heading up north to the lake with my family for a day or two, so here’s one of my favorite lomographs of Crooked Lake. Aren’t those reflections delicious? The gal in foreground is my cousin, Meg and behind her is my youngest sister, Grace. I think they were looking for frogs.

Check out this Etsy Shop! Just looking at these creations by Etsy Seller Day of the Head makes me wanna grab up all my plush friends and bust out the margaritas! Rachel, creator of Day of the Dead, hand-makes all these fun, one of a kind heads out of knit materials. These little guys are all born from little characters she has running around in her head. I just love how unique each one is, they have so much personality! The contrasting, brightly colored knit patterns and expressive faces on these guys really makes them stand out items!

Here are some new items to be added to my Etsy store Cake Eaters very soon! These wall hangings are some of my first attempts at cross stitch, I designed the patterns myself and am pretty pleased with how they came out. I decided to use very basic natural elements and jazz them up with some fun colors. I think they are best described as “granny glamour”!

Check out this Etsy Seller! Peeko Apparel and Vintage makes the sweetest one of a kind pieces, all from recycled materials. Her series is based exclusively on the idea renew and reuse. I think both these items are just perfect for spring. I love the textured detailing on the front of the bag and how the vibrant yellow and orange pop against the grey. The scalloped bottom on the dress is too precious for words and the lace top is made from 60’s era curtains. How neat!
