Sandi’s shop Pink Kitty Crafts features adorable, useful goodies that she makes from old discarded “junk”. She also sells a variety of cute vintage housewares and knick-knacks. I really love her product photography. The photos look like they came straight out of a 1958 Family Circle magazine! So perfect!

Newest embroidered wall hanging at Cake Eaters! It’s a disco dance party of embroidery! I learned a lesson with this one… satin stitch sure is time consuming! It took me forever to finish, but I really like the end result. Check it out.

Check out these fantastic installations by Sarah Applebaum. She creates magical spaces using traditional crochet and knitting techniques, however the result is far from traditional. I like how these spaces feel chaotic and comforting at the same time. What a wonderful example of craft being used in contemporary art!

Hillery Rebeka Sporatt made these fabulous embroidered art objects. The sewn pieces below are small keepsakes and special gifts, meant to be given to those you love. Hillery states, “I believe that small things matter.” I couldn’t agree more Hillery!

1 dress, 356 days. This is the simple idea behind The Uniform Project. Sheena Matheiken has pledged to wear one dress everyday for a year as an exercise in sustainable fashion. There are 7 identical dresses and everyday she reinvents them with all sorts of layers and accessories. The majority of the items she adds are vintage, handmade, or hand-me-down (you can even donate accessories for her to wear!) The Uniform Project is also a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots non-profit organization devoted to bringing education to slum children through the volunteered efforts of college students. The Uniform Project has been going on for about 3 months now and has already raised $6,546. This is a wonderful project and I love seeing the amazing outfit she comes up with each day, this is definitely a site to add to you RSS!

Loving Etsy shop Retrowhale. They have some seriously awesome t-shirts and artwork. (And it’s affordable!) I just love their illustrative style.

More artwork and cards are available at the Etsy shop Retrosprout. These plantable cards are made from handmade, recycled paper and are embedded with wildflower seeds and are packaged in 100% biodegradable clear bags. Way to make a cool card even cooler. Better yet, 10% of proceeds from plantable cards go to two wonderful charities, Ace of Hearts & Heal the Bay.

I admit I have gotten a little behind in listing items on Etsy, and that this is long over-due. So I am very happy to say that I will be listing new items all this week! I added this item today, a little raccoon family on re-purposed fabric in a vintage metal hoop. I love the subtle birds in the background. I think it would look so cute in a nursery or kids room. Stay tuned, more embroidered delicacies are on their way!

Found this little beauty while scouring my favorite vintage junk store, Olga’s House of Stuff, for some little odds and ends for a new project I’m working on. I love the tassels and how the paint is wearing off in some places. Best of all, it only cost me $2. Score!

I must say, I have never been so attracted to socks. Hansel from Basel has the cutest lookbook. It’s really making me wanna go pull on some knee-highs and jump on the bed. The pom poms are a great touch.

All her creatures are made out of recycled textile materials and stuffed with organic cotton. I think these would make a great gift anyone young or young at heart! They are available on her Etsy shop, OdeliaLa. Read more about Odelia and see more great dolls on her website.

I was browsing some of my Etsy favorites today and I was knocked out by the cuteness of this vintage 1960’s babydoll dress from Honey Bee Vintage. I love the puff sleeves and the floral print. Doesn’t this dress make you want to frolic through a feild?

I just can’t get enough cute eco-friendly fashion! Etsy seller Supayana makes the cutest reconstructed clothing! The majority of her clothing is made from recycled or second-hand fabrics. I especially love her “sleeve neck” shirts and how shes uses the original sleeves of the button up shirt to create an adorable cowl.
